Jig at the End of Time
A musical doodle. I’ve been playing with writing parts — something I was never taught to do, and so there’s no doubt lots of room to do it better. The piece itself is a jig, thought not exactly what you’d hear at a ceilidh. If anyone decided that it might work to dance to, the tempo it begins with is probably about right, but the arrangement and the instruments not so much. The first part uses Musecore’s synthesized/sampled flute, violin and cello. The second part uses tuba and what Musescore claims is a kazoo, but not even a bit like any kazoo I’ve ever owned or heard.
I wanted to try to do something angular and not exactly in a clear key. This is sort of in G major, but not stably so.
No philosophy here; pretty thoroughly in the “sundry other things” category. It’s a two-minute joke of sorts, but not the laugh-out-loud sort.
